HBOT is Safe and Effective Treatment for TBI, PTSD, PPCS; Suicidal Ideation and Panic Attacks Greatly Reduced

HBOT has again been shown to be an effective treatment for veterans with mild Traumatic Brain Injury, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Persistent Post-Concussion (PPCS) Syndrome according to a study by Paul Harch, MD, published here in the journal Medical Gas Research.

This peer-reviewed study included 30 Iraq and Afghanistan War veterans who underwent a protocol of 40, 1-hour HBOT sessions.  The findings showed significant improvements symptoms of PTSD and PCCS including cognition, anxiety, and depression, as well as improvement in brain blood flow patterns.  Study participants also shows a significant reduction in the need for prescription medication management with psychoactive drugs and narcotics. One striking result of the study shows significant reduction or elimination of suicidal thoughts and panic attacks in these veterans.
